ETHEREAL.PRESS is an independent digital media publication focused on the expansion of human creative consciousness. Merging the (mainstream + underground).

What is ETHEREAL.PRESS?

ETHEREAL.PRESS is a digital media publication focused on exploring the vast array of human consciousness through creative expression absent of traditional societal gatekeepers. While subsequently (2), providing our audience with a deeper understanding of those who(m) they would likely have unrealized physical and digital barriers towards. We intend (3) to highlight all facets of creativity without bias towards an artist's 'internet clout' or genre.

ETHEREAL.PRESS was developed in early 2022 but was conceptualized long before its network origin.

Denver, Colorado but operational globally.

How does ETHEREAL.PRESS get views?

As I am sure you've noticed our presence on social media is limited. We find that content is derivative and makes the creative experience 'souless'.

Most of our viewership comes from artist reposts, reddit, search engine results, google news, our newsletter, Rate Your Music, RSS feeds, and viewers sharing our articles.

Even without much social media presence our site garners substantial viewership / engagement for an independent publication.

How does ETHEREAL.PRESS approach posting articles?

We strongly support the notion that spamming out hundreds of click-bait sludge pieces to generate negative feedback / sell shitty products is morally reprehensible. Justifying making people's lives shittier for monetary gain is an atrocity and will be viewed as such by later generations.

So many are complicit in this system and for what? Shouldn't your soul mean more than your monetary gain?

We never want to be a massive media conglomerate - rather just a team of individuals that care about art and the human experience.

How does ETHEREAL.PRESS stay impartial?

Festivals

We only feature events/artists we witnessed and strongly connected with to maintain an objective reviewing process. Our publication refuses to write hundreds of low-effort reviews documenting an entire festival line-up (to boost our viewership inauthentically) with performances we might not even enjoy.

In our contractual agreements with festivals, we state our features are totally up to us, and we want to feature only the best of the best from a given event. We want our audience to have their eyes on the artists who are really impressing us, and the best way we can do that is to be selective on our features.

We might go to a festival where 100 artists are performing and only feature 6 - that's how selective we want to be.

Money is often exchanged for our photo, video, and press coverage under our brand. There is no Monetary sway over how we write about events, and we will only write at length about something we wholeheartedly enjoy, as aforementioned.

Having festivals as sponsors for our publication allows us to bring more diverse talent to you and travel to artists who can't come to us.

Events

We get invited to events from PR companies often, as well as, (Ambivalence) works with a numerous artists each year. When invited to events by PR companies, we are not obligated to review their artists; we choose to feature their artists only 'if' their performance is impressive. There have been dozens of events we have attended but not reviewed. 

Ambivalence has separate event coverage work where he often works with artists delivering photo/video deliverables (site). A few times, these events have overlapped into a Ethereal feature. It's important to note there are no contractual obligations in place saying a feature is part of this monetary exchange. 

If Ambivalence feels an artist warrants a feature, one will be written for ETHEREAL.PRESS - the vast majority of the time we are sending Ambivalence to events to capture images of artists (culminating in a feature).

Interviews

We reach out to all of our interviews to feature on Ethereal and do NOT accept monetary compensation for interviews. It doesn't matter if you have 100 fans or 10,000,000 external pressures do not determine the artists we feature.

Sponsors

Sponsors of ETHEREAL.PRESS have no say in the reviewing or interviewing process of artists. We rigorously vet our sponsors to ensure we only feature the most altruistic brands/services and they do not affect our content output.

Why doesn't ETHEREAL.PRESS write negative reviews?

In short we feel that it's punching down. We are very selective in what we feature and don't rely on lying for ad revenue or to sell physical items.

The views expressed by the artists we feature may not necessarily correlate with ours. None of the featured music artists are affiliated with ethereal.press. Our public discourse had deteriorated and as such a wider spectrum of opinions needs to be represented.

WE DO NOT FEATURE ANY CONTENT, INCLUDING NUDITY, SEXUAL CONTENT, EXTREME GORE/VIOLENCE, OR NAZI/NSBM CONTENT. ANYTHING THAT INCLUDES THESE THEMES WILL NOT BE FEATURED ON ETHEREAL.
